A Voice from the Stone

In this psychological thriller, Clarke plays Verena, a British nurse hired in 1950s Tuscany to care for a boy that has not spoken since the death of his mother. While she observes Jacob she discovers that he listens to the stone walls in the house and at his mother’s grave, believing that he can hear his mother’s voice. At first, Verena sees the voices as a coping mechanism of a grieving child that needs to be handled delicately. But it’s isn’t long before Verena begins to believe that the voices behind the stone are real.
