Lisa Laman is a life-long movie fan, writer, Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, and Critic's Choice Association located both on the autism spectrum and in Texas. Given that her first word was "Disney", Lisa Laman was "doomed" from the start to be a film geek! In addition to her work for Culturess, Lisa Laman has also has her work published in Dallas Observer, AutoStraddle, Polygon, ScarleTeen, The Spool, Collider, and Next Best Picture among many other outlets. ue, Fangoria, The Spool, and ScarleTeen. She has also presented original essays related to the world of cinema at multiple academic conferences, interviewed artists ranging from Froy Gutierrez to Mark Wahlberg, and co-hosts the weekly podcast The Outside Scoop. When she isn't watching and writing about movies, Lisa can be found playing with her pugs, eating queso, or belting out Carly Rae Jepsen songs at karaoke.
