During My Lottery Dream Home Season 16, Episode 7, host David Bromstad helps a newlywed couple find the home of their dreams. The lucky lottery winners are hoping to find a place to call home in Richmond, Virginia. Here’s what happened during the episode.

A big lottery win

We meet homebuyers Marsha and Harry during an episode titled Newlywed and Cashed Up in Richmond. Marsha explained that she usually buys scratch-off tickets. One day, she won a few dollars, so she used her small winnings to buy another ticket.

Fortunately for Marsha, the next ticket turned out to be a big winner. Much to her surprise, she won $2 million. She says the first thing she did was write down all the bills she owed. She was excited about the possibility of becoming debt-free.

A newlywed couple hunts for a new home

Marsha desires a new home with at least four bedrooms and at least three bathrooms. She jokes that she doesn’t like to share a bathroom. Marsha has a big family, so this is very important to her.

Marsha also wants an open floor plan so she can speak with her guests while preparing meals. Both Marsha and Harry agree that they also want big closets.

As far as the price, Marsha wants to spend between $800,000 and $900,000. Bromstad presented several options, including properties located in Summer Lake and Lake Margaret.

Marsha and Harry enjoyed some of the special features available in the homes they saw. They loved that some of the homes had a walk-in pantry and mud room. They were also fond of the gold finishes in the kitchen.

The final decision

Marsha and Harry ultimately chose the Mint Mountain home for $829,900. This home is a new build with all of the extra touches the couple was looking for. They also appreciate what they describe as the “warmth” of the neighborhood. Marsha and Harry couldn’t be happier.

My Lottery Dream Home airs on HGTV.
