The Walking Dead review: Teamwork makes the dream work when everyone comes together
On The Walking Dead, while the communities experience their ups and downs in building the bridge, Rick tells Negan about how the world has changed.
This week’s episode of The Walking Dead has Rick retelling a day’s work on the bridge to Negan, who sits in his dark cell listening against his will.
Everyone in the camp is getting ready to do their part in rebuilding the bridge, and Rick has the place running like a well-oiled machine. The communities have camped out in the woods to ease the bridge construction except for King Ezekiel who is headed back to the kingdom because they need him and Henry needs to go to school. Henry has become like an adoptive son to Carol and the King. It’s beyond adorable how Henry kisses Carol before going on his way and how he listens as the King blesses him with his wisdom.
Siddiq has taken on Enid as a doctor in training, and she helps sew stitches on someone who had cut their hand peeling potatoes. Enid not only knows the medical techniques but is also trained to see the treatment methods needed and mildly scolds the girl for not coming sooner, as she risked a severe infection. Two doctors are always better than one given short life expectancies in the apocalypse, and it will allow for more than one community to receive care. Rick sends Siddiq back to Alexandria because there’s a bug going around and Enid, although a little nervous, is left to her medical duties by the bridge site.
The rest of the crew watch and analyze nearby hordes getting too close to the construction area. “Horatio,” a horde of about 100 walkers, is treading pretty close, but Rick won’t hold off too long on redirecting them because there is an even bigger horde that they can end up attracting if they don’t plan the redirection with precision. So the plan goes that once Horatio reaches a specific mark, Rick’s people will use different forms of sound to distract them in another direction.
