Birds of Prey movie leaked photos add fuel to Harley Quinn and Joker fan theory
Leaked Birds of Prey set photos may reveal a clue supporting a promising Harley Quinn and Joker fan theory.
The most female-centric comic that isn’t a solo feature in DC Comics is by far the Birds of Prey series. The BOP comics featured a group of the best female heroes and (former?) villains mostly with origins in the Batman comics doing their own dirty work without any assistance from any of the guys.
We first learned a movie based on the comic titled Birds of Prey and the fantabulous emancipation of Harley Quinn was coming to the screen last year. Best of all, Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn. After BOP started production, we’ve been lucky to catch Ella Jay Basco in action, a sneak peek of Quinn’s outfit, and a teaser of some of the cast. But we haven’t had much else to go off of.
Luckily, someone out there has leaked recent photos of Robbie in costume and on the set of Birds of Prey. These images show Robbie and her co-star Basco in an SUV that has a mattress and box spring tied to its roof. It looks like someone is in the process of moving out and the rumor is that it might just be Quinn who is settling into a new home.

Based on previously teased photos for the movie, Quinn is spotted wearing a choker that doesn’t say “Puddin.” And fans have taken this as a clue that Quinn breaks up with her abusive boyfriend, the Joker. These new set photos may be teasing Quinn moving out of her Joker nest and bunking with someone else, or even better, getting a new pad.
Quinn’s companion in the SUV may also be a future superhero that the BOP befriends and unknowingly trains. Rumors have already emerged claiming that Basco’s mysterious character could be Cassandra Cain. Cain was an informant for Barbara Gordon after Gordon is paralyzed by the Joker and has to hand up her Bat Girl image to adopt the name Oracle. Cain later becomes Bat Girl, so if Basco is truly Cain in the film, her role in the movie may end up serving as an origin story.
According to Comic Book Resource, filming is estimated to end for Birds of Prey in the next two months. Therefore, expect a more detailed trailer shortly on Birds of Prey and how they factor into the DC universe.
Birds of Prey hits theaters on Feb. 7, 2020.
