Mark Ruffalo and Jason Momoa posed at New York Comic Con for an unexpected Marvel/DC moment

Mark Ruffalo went incognito at New York Comic Con, and inspired the best Marvel/DC (and Disney) crossover when he met Jason Momoa.

If the DCEU and MCU could combine their efforts and produce movies based on all of our favorite comic superheroes, this world would be a happier place.

Of course, this is just the stuff of dreams. And it doesn’t look like the two cinematic universes will be bridged anytime soon. But Mark Ruffalo and Jason Momoa took photos together at New York Comic Con, and it’s swelling our hearts with hope of what could be.

Fresh off of “spoiling” Avengers 4 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Ruffalo came to NYCC in Grunkle Stan cosplay from the Disney animated series Gravity Falls. (Grunkle Stan is one of the main characters of the show and Dipper and Mabel’s great-uncle, hence the Grunkle Stan name.) Ruffalo was unrecognizable while wearing a mask and Grunkle Stan’s iconic red fez hat and glasses.

Momoa and Ruffalo were posing for pictures when mid-pose Ruffalo shed his costume pieces to reveal who he was. It pretty much looked like a random fan was joyously taking photos alongside Momoa in cosplay until all the pieces came off. It was a super cute moment made even more adorable when Momoa imitated Ruffalo’s Hulk character.

While both actors uploaded the video to their social media channels, Momoa captioned his Instagram post by referencing that Ruffalo was a legend and that he “loved this guy.” Momoa was at NYCC to reveal a new movie trailer for DC’s Aquaman opening this December.

Ruffalo also shared a few other photobomb pictures of himself with other celebs at the convention. In one photo, he posed in his Grunkle Stan garb with Avengers: Infinity War castmate Danai Gurira. In another photo, he met up with Boy Meets World stars Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, and Will Friedel.

While the DC and Marvel dream will probably never happen, it’s nice to see that the actors from both sides are such good sports!
