New details about the 9-1-1 crossover event have been revealed. Here’s everything we know so far.

The much-anticipated crossover of 9-1-1 and its spin-off series Lone Star is coming right at the start of the new seasons. From premiere dates to when exactly the crossover will air on FOX, to a look at the storyline at the heart of the show, here’s what we know so far.

First, we have to get the premiere date for both shows out of the way: On January 18, both 9-1-1 season 4 and 9-1-1: Lone Star season 2 will premiere back to back on FOX.

Now that we have that out of the way, we need to dive right into what we know about the crossover — because I don’t know about you, but for me, this is exciting. After all, this isn’t like the Chicago franchise, where it makes sense to see the shows crossover. Here we have shows set in two very different states: Texas and California. So, the big question is how they are going to make this work.

What we know about the 9-1-1 crossover event

Right off the bat, we have to point out that the crossover will take place during the third episode of both shows, which will air on February 1, according to The Wrap.

With 9-1-1 kicking off the duo of shows, the adventure starts there, with three members of the 118 team heading to Austin, Texas (the setting for Lone Star) in an effort to help the members of the 126 as they attempt to battle a massive wildfire in the state. And we all know that, in real life, California firefighters often find themselves dealing with wildfires (just look at the last few years), so it absolutely makes sense that members of the 118 would head to Texas to lend a hand.

The firefighters heading to Lone Star are Buck, Eddie, and Hen, and considering they seem to be fan favorites (honestly, I think the entire 9-1-1 cast is a fan favorite), this makes sense. Knowing that these three will be paired up with members of the other team, that leaves us wondering who they might connect best with.

There are so many possibilities for how this crossover will play out, but considering showrunner Tim Minear tweeted out a picture of Buck and Eddie in a dark haze alongside Marjan and T.K., we know these four will definitely be working together closely during the crossover.

This tease from November is enough to have us eager for the new seasons of both shows. And forget the crossover — well, no, don’t actually — but we can’t wait to see Buck and Eddie in Austin. Having these two plus Hen heading to Texas to work with Rob Lowe’s Owen Strand is the epicness we didn’t even know we needed until now.
