Big Brother 22 week 4 recap: King Kaysar goes out with a bang
In yet another predictable week for the Big Brother house, Kaysar was unable to secure his safety with the veto, and was evicted 10-0.
In a not-so-shocking turn of events, Kaysar Ridha was evicted from the Big Brother house by a vote of 10-0, following his BB bestie Janelle Pierzina out the door. In the words of host Julie Chen, Kaysar was evicted for the crime of being guilty by association with Janelle, the house target since week one.
Although he was mere seconds away from winning the HOH and securing his safety, Enzo beat him to the buzzer, and after Kevin won veto, Kaysar’s fate was sealed. However, though this week’s gameplay was lackluster, there was an interesting development in the BB house not aired in the episode: a wall yeller.
A Pawn and the House Target Hit the Block
As we saw in Sunday night’s episode, the week kicked off with an HOH competition that came down to the wire, but despite his strong performance in round one, Kaysar was unable to pull out the win, and Enzo claimed the title of HOH. Given his allegiance to Cody and the rest of the “Slick Six” alliance, it was no surprise that Enzo didn’t plan to ruffle any feathers with his nominations, and had Kaysar as a nominee locked from the get-go.
However, who would sit next to Kaysar — the obvious house target from week one — was a little less clear. After a bit of back and forth, it was Kevin who Enzo put up next to Kaysar as a non-threatening pawn who would easily win the vote if the veto wasn’t used.
Kevin’s Miraculous Veto Win
The next day the houseguests played veto — a Backstreet Boys-esque comp that saw the houseguests hang on strings like marionette puppets. The comp was a pretty brutal endurance-based competition, which surprised us not only because HOH is usually endurance, but also because it’s exactly the type of comp Kaysar doesn’t excel in. Production didn’t seem to want him to win the competition.
Though he tried his best, Kaysar fell first and was eliminated, and Kevin was able to outlast Bayleigh and David for the win, securing his safety and leaving the door wide open for Enzo to consider making a big move.
Wall-Yeller Madness
Although it didn’t make the episode (likely because CBS doesn’t want to air interference with the gameplay of Big Brother), the most exciting thing to happen this week was a fan with a bullhorn yelling a message over the wall to the houseguests. In the past, wall yellers have attempted to warn the houseguests with varying degrees of success, but this one was loud and clear. The message “Nicole and Cody are playing everyone” could be heard by everyone in the backyard — which, at the time, was the entire house sans Daniele and Da’Vonne.
This message from the outside sent the house spiraling and prompted loyalties to be questioned. Several houseguests began to doubt their own alliances, and Da’Vonne, Christmas, and Tyler all approached Enzo at different points in the evening to suggest backdooring Dani.
A Lackluster Veto Ceremony
However, despite all the chaos (and his boasting in the diary room that he would “bathe in blood,” Enzo insisted he was too afraid to make a big move. So, instead of backdooring Dani and drawing a line in the sand, he nominated Christmas (who had volunteered to go up) in Kevin’s place.
It was the coward’s way out, but the move didn’t surprise anyone, nor did it plant a target on Enzo’s back. Going forward, he shouldn’t have to worry about people holding grudges because of this week’s HOH.
An Explosive Eviction
After the veto ceremony, with Kaysar’s fate set in stone, the houseguests continued their wall-yeller-induced paranoia and began planning for the events of next week. Ian got as much information as he could out of Kaysar, and went on to propose alliances to both Kevin and Bayleigh. However, his biggest move was convincing Kaysar to blow up the house on his way out the door — which Kaysar very much did.

At the live eviction, Kaysar exposed Cody, Nicole, and Dani to the entire house, and like a true All-Star, donned his iconic FBI hat as he was evicted by a vote of 10-0. Although that makes the fourth time Kaysar has been evicted pre-jury, he’s still an All-Star in our hearts, and as Julie told him during his exit interview, he will always be loved for his genuine spirit and wise words.
Although we’d hoped that there would be a power shift after Kaysar’s eviction (we aren’t ashamed to admit we were pulling for Ian or Da’Vonne), Christmas grabbed power in a knockout HOH, so heading into next week, fans can expect more of the same. This so-called All-Stars season is growing less and less impressive with each passing week — and unless there’s a serious shakeup, BB22 will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in the show’s history.
This Week’s Superlatives:
Clutch Play of the Week: The wall yeller has done more to make this season exciting than the players have. Hopefully, the houseguests heed their advice.
Most Memorable Moment: Kaysar blowing up the house with his eviction speech and donning his FBI hat as he walks out the door. WHAT UP, KAYSAR?!
Houseguest in the Best Spot: Coming off of his HOH win, Enzo has practically no blood on his hands, and his good position with Christmas should keep him safe another week.
