A Discovery of Witches: Diana gets unlikely visitors in this season finale clip

The season finale of a Discovery of Witches is here, and Diana will get two unlikely visitors knocking on her front doorstep for help.

The last time we saw Diana in A Discovery of Witches, she literally walked right into danger. As we saw in the preview clip for episode 7, Matthew and Diana harmlessly tried to test her powers — but we know now that harm always gets into these two’s way.

Leaving us on that cliffhanger with Juliette, we can only expect that the danger level is going to be pushed to the max in the season 1 finale. Though, we also trust Diana and Matthew, because they always find a way out of their problems.

According to the synopsis for the final episode:

"Matthew’s attempt to rescue Diana from Juliette goes horribly wrong. Diana discovers just how lethal her powers can be. As Matthew lies dying, Diana must strike a dreadful bargain with the goddess and make the ultimate sacrificial pact."

The “Matthew lies dying” part kind of has us worried. To be fair, we did see Matthew suffering in the preview for episode 8, but that’s just something we’re electing to ignore that.

Luckily, in this sneak preview clip for episode 8, things don’t seem to be terribly bad. In fact, it looks like Diana may actually have the chance to help two deserving people out.

In the clip, Sophie and Nathaniel (both demons) come to pay Diana a visit. In the last episode, Agatha, Nathaniel’s mother and a member of the Congregation, mentioned to Hamish that Diana may be the one to help the demons. Considering Sophie was born to witches (and she even believes that her unborn child will be a witch), it obviously means the supernatural people have a vast misunderstanding of how they all work. Perhaps the mixing of witches, demons and vampires need not be as taboo as they think.

So, will Sophie ask for Diana’s help, or will Nathaniel have them walk away? We’re hoping Sophie does come around to asking for Diana’s help, because we’re sure she’s the one who’ll be the savior of the demons.
