12. President Francis Joseph “Frank” Underwood (House of Cards)

This might be the most controversial President on the list. He’s a master manipulator, killer and amoral but damn useful. He grew up poor in small South Carolina town called Gaffney. Frank graduated military school and went on to Harvard Law School. After graduating law school, he went right into politics. He was elected to U.S. House of Representatives for the 5th Congressional District of South Carolina. It’s a seat he has won 11 consecutive times. The man has done his time. They rewarded his tenacity by making him the House Majority Whip. This is not the end goal for Frank Underwood. He’s got his sights on a bigger prize, the US Presidency. He manages to become President without one vote counted. That take a talent and a long game that’s on another level.

He owes a lot of his success to his wife, Claire Underwood. They are a team even when they are at odds. She has supported him through all his Machiavellian plots and schemes with the grace of a First Lady.

I’m not saying Frank Underwood is a great person. He’s just not the guy you want to cross. Matter of fact you just want to stay out of his way. If you don’t, you are liable to get swallowed or suck down by his wake. The only Achilles heal Fran Underwood has is himself.
