Oscar Isaacs stole our hearts as the charismatic pilot Poe Dameron in the most recent trilogy of Star Wars films. But there’s no telling how the world at large will react to the badass he’s going to be in the Disney+ series Moon Knight.

In the latest update, Issacs’ production company, Mad Gene Media, shared a video where Issacs shows off some pretty impressive moves in a practice scene for the upcoming series. At first glance, Moon Knight may even top The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in the action department.

Issacs will play the lead, Marc Spector, a former boxer, marine, mercenary, and CIA operative that becomes a costumed hero after a near-death experience. Unfortunately, the series will also follow The Falcon and The Winter Soldier‘s lead with just six episodes in its first season.

That’s as much as we know about the series since creators have kept a tight lid on the upcoming show’s plot and characters. While we don’t know who the series’s antagonist will be, we do at least know that Ethan Hawke will play the role. Much like Wandavision, it seems that we will discover all the surprises as the show unfolds.

Moon Knight moves may explain what they will take from the comics

Depending on how much is taken from the comics, Moon Knight will be a different kind of superhero. Spector is not only a man of many occupations; he’s also struggling with Dissociative Identity Disorder. His mental health condition leads to other personalities, such as a millionaire and a cab driver.

Undoubtedly, Spector’s mental health will be one obstacle among many, and his progress will depend on whether the show incorporates professional help or coping methods. And if they take a page from Wandavision, the series could also lean into the supernatural and link Moon Knight to the Egyptian deity who saved his life, Khonshu.

Moon Knight also differs from the typical MCU superhero in that he doesn’t shy away from killing. He doesn’t stick to a Batman-like code to never take a life, which is probably the most revealing part of Issacs’ practice video. Besides demonstrating that Spector is a very skilled fighter, the video shows a talented killer dealing lethal attacks with a knife.

If this is truly where the show is headed, I’m sure there will be a few MCU superheroes who won’t be fond of Moon Knight, or at least they will like to have a word about the way he handles the bad guys. To me, that smells a lot like MCU cameos, and I’m all for it.
