Stranger Things: We’ll be seeing more of Priah Ferguson’s Erica in season 4

If you fell in love with Lucas’ little sister, Erica, during Stranger Things 3, you’re in luck: She’s reportedly been upped to a series regular for the fourth season of the show.

You can’t spell America without Erica. And, apparently, you won’t be able to watch much of Stranger Things 4 without seeing her either — which, honestly, is a development we’re thrilled about. As per Variety, Priah Ferguson, who portrays Lucas Sinclair’s sassy younger sister in the Netflix original, has been made a series regular for the show’s fourth season.

While Ferguson’s character certainly had more screen time during Stranger Things 3 than she’s been given in the past, this is an unexpected surprise for many fans. Erica’s been reluctant to join the main gang of “nerds” in previous seasons, so it’ll be interesting to see her get so wrapped up in their antics this time around. (Hopefully, she’ll get more free ice cream out of the situation.)

Of course, Erica was dragged into the whole “Evil Russians” scenario when Dustin, Steve, and Robin got her involved during Stranger Things 3. But being a series regular implies she’ll have an even more active role in the series, though what that will entail remains to be seen. Given the lack of plot details for season 4, it’s difficult to even guess — though after watching the recent teaser trailer, which reveals that Hopper is actually still alive (yes!), we have to assume the gang will either wind up fighting him or saving him. (Maybe a bit of both?)

Netflix has yet to comment on Ferguson’s status as series regular, so nothing is officially officially confirmed just yet. But Ferguson’s character has become popular enough since her entry into the series during season 2 that we’d believe more screen time is in order for her. And IMDb does have her listed for seven fourth-season episodes…

As for when fans will officially be able to see the new season for themselves, that’s still anyone’s guess. No official release date has been revealed for Stranger Things 4 just yet, but filming did wrap earlier this month — meaning there’s a good chance we’ll see it toward the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Next. Stranger Things fans, it’s time to book your trip to Lithuania. dark
