Young Justice: Outsiders episode 19 preview: New recruits and old threats
Young Justice: Outsiders has been renewed for another season, and this week’s episode will give us some insight into the new recruits and a few old villains.
After the highs, lows, and epic feats of San Diego Comic-Con, we can finally focus on the one thing that matters: Young Justice: Outsiders. OK, there are a lot of other fandoms and TV series we cherish dearly, including Swamp Thing, Titans, Doom Patrol, and Harley Quinn. Sorry, but weren’t suppressing our DC Universe shilling.
After all the DCU announcements at SDCC, we have a lot to look forward to, and this week’s Young Justice: Outsiders episode will give us some villain-related nostalgia. (Does it count as nostalgia if this season has already introduced us to the main villains?)
Seeing as it’s been a while since we’ve seen some of the really heinous big bads, we consider any villainous resurgence as some form of mild nostalgia. We’re not sorry, Klarion, you don’t count as a big bad because nobody actually takes you seriously. Now that we know DC Universe has renewed Young Justice for season four, we can stop worrying about the fate of the animated series … and start worrying about the fate of the namesake team.
Putting all our season four fan theories aside, this week’s episode will hopefully give us more insight into the newly rescued meta-humans. As the Outsiders team continues to grow, the team will need to sustain its public image and help Klarion’s victims from last week cope. After all, learning to use and control meta-human powers seems like a running theme this season.
While we might not officially figure out who all the new meta-humans are, we know that Klarion’s attack was just a warm-up for the real trouble. In retrospect, every minor battle is a warm-up to Darkseid’s long-awaited scheme with the anti-life equation. Still, we know another fight is coming in the not-so-distant future. But who will the Outsiders face off against this week?
Obviously, we’re not going to give that away just yet. You’ll have to watch the episode to find out. But the Outsiders will hopefully start to feel like a team this week.
