Tyrion

"Tyrion: Love is more powerful than reason. We all know that. Look at my brother. Jon: Love is the death of duty… Maester Aemon said it a long time ago. Tyrion: Sometimes duty is the death of love."

This what I like to call the Game of Thrones Quote-Off, because we had three great quotes back to back from both Jon and Tyrion. While trying to convince Jon to denounce (i.e., kill) Daenerys, Tyrion tried to explain that you shouldn’t be blindsided by love.

Completely blindsided by love, Jon countered Tyrion’s quote with good old Great-Great Uncle Aemon, who reminded him “Love is the death of duty.” And while Tyrion was impressed, he hit Jon with a “reverse” card by telling him just the opposite.

So, who are we to believe? In this situation, it’ll have to be Tyrion, seeing as Daenerys needed to be stopped before things got out of hand. There was no convincing her no matter what. And, sadly, killing his love was the right thing to do.
