Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4: The realest questions we gotta ask

facebooktwitterreddit

Game of Thrones had us all in for another shock this week, and it’s leaving us with a lot of questions for the next episode. We’re going to need answers ASAP.

Warning: This story contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8 episode 4.

There’s one thing Game of Thrones does well, and that’s keeping you on your feet. While we thought we could rest easy after seeing all the sadness at the Battle of Winterfell funeral, that wasn’t the worst to come.

After seeing the fourth episode of Game of Thrones’ eighth season (and going through all the feels), we have more questions to ask. And let’s start with the most important one first:

Can I invite Tormund to all my parties?

Every party needs someone who’s great at telling stories, and Tormund is that guy. If anything, you can release him into the crowd when you’re ready for people to leave, and they’ll definitely be ready to go after hearing him drone on and on about his fights. He’ll definitely be useful at your next gathering.

Is Gendry still taking marriage applications?

Gendry just checked into the Heartbreak Hotel, but it doesn’t have to be that way for long. Arya isn’t ready to be the Lady of Storm’s End, but there are plenty of other people waiting to take her spot (me included). Face it: it’s time to move on, Gendry.

Jaime: First of all, how dare you?

Okay Jaime, you’re making a real fool out of all of us who were rooting for you and Brienne. You two shared that tender moment. But then you go and destroy all that by leaving and breaking Brienne’s heart? She could break you if she wanted to, but she didn’t. And you know what, you better get right, or you better look out.

Are the Stark sisters really going to let it slide that Jon is the heir to the throne?

As I asked this question during the Stark Intervention scene, I didn’t know Sansa was going to go tell Tyrion Jon’s secret. So now Tyrion and Varys know that Jon Snow is a Targaryen and the heir to the throne. Sansa and Arya could definitely play this to their advantage if they want Jon to be King. And Varys, despite being pledged to Daenerys, may have something up his sleeves, too. Loose lips sink ships, so let’s just hope Daenerys doesn’t drown.

Can we get Maury Povich up in here for Cersei?

During an exchange between Euron and Cersei, Cersei mentions that “their” child would one day rule the Seven Kingdoms. But Cersei was pregnant in season 7 before she hooked up with Euron this season, so that’s definitely Jaime’s kid… right? Depending on how things go, we may have a plot-device baby who will shake things up in King’s Landing. (If not, then what’s the point of saying she’s pregnant if it’s not going to cause some Maury-like drama?)

Any last words, Cersei?

Cersei is in trouble. Big. Trouble. First, you have Euron take down Rhaegal. Then you behead Missandei in front of Daenerys and Grey Worm. Oh no, Cersei. I’m afraid your days are numbered. At this rate, it’s a question of who’s going to get her first: Daenerys or Arya?
