Definitely, Maybe

I admit that a young Ryan Reynolds is definitely one of the main reasons I enjoy Definitely, Maybe. However, while Reynolds may have been the original draw for me, the movie as a whole works as a solid rom-com to keep me coming back for more.

In the movie, Reynolds plays Will, the father of a 10-year-old daughter. He is in the midst of getting divorced from her mother, and she wants to know how her parents ultimately met (and fell in love). Over the course of the movie, Will tells his daughter about the different romances he has had in his life, although he does change some of the details and the names of those involved in order to create a sort of mystery.

As Will tells his story, his daughter not only figures out which of the romances was with her mother, but also that her dad is still in love with one of his exes. While the story starts almost in a sad way because of the ending of a relationship, this movie delivers on the romance we expect from any rom-coms.

In fact, I would have to say that there is something quite unique about the way this story is told. Hearing about past relationships may not seem like the most romantic thing ever, but ultimately it leads to the realization of lost love. How can you not love that?

I honestly love the fact that this is streaming on Netflix so I can watch second chance love and of course, Ryan Reynolds.
