Star Wars Resistance season 1 episode 8 live stream: Watch online

Captain Doza relies on Yeager and his crew to repair a vital component of the platform’s defense system, while Tam and Kaz unknowingly befriend the pirate spy.

In last week’s episode, Kaz and Poe had a wild adventure in space. They were attacked by mischievous monkey-lizards and a giant monkey-ape. They didn’t come away completely empty-handed, however. They managed to save a lone survivor. Her name is Synara San, and she’s not as harmless as she seems.

Synara is a pirate and Kragan Gorr’s second-in-command. Not only did she survive the monkey-lizard attack, but Kaz brought her back to the Colossus. Now, her main assignment is to blend in and figure out a strategy that works best for the pirates, giving them a major advantage.

According to the official synopsis for “Synara’s Score”:

"On a mission to repair a vital platform defense, Kaz befriends the mysterious Synara and comes under attack by pirates."

We’ll also see Yeager’s team hard at work in this episode because the platform’s defenses need some serious repair. Let’s not forget how Captain Doza is being pressured to seek out the First Order as an ally. If Yeager and his crew aren’t successful, Doza could finally cave in.

This episode will also feature the return of Jim Rash (Community) and Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales) as Flix and Orka, respectively. The comedic duo run the Office of Acquisitions in the Colossus. If they’re part of the story, then that means Kaz or one of the other mechanics will be seeking them out for parts. Here’s hoping we get to see more of their storage area and any other goodies they have lying around.

As for some of the action that might go down in this episode, a pirate attack is definitely headed their way. We can’t help but think Synara is ultimately behind it, so our theory about her being a wild card might not fully play out as we envisioned. Still, in our heart of hearts, we hope she sides with the Colossus after blending in with the crowd and getting to know some of the other residents, like Kaz.

On the other hand, maybe Synara showing her true pirate colors to Kaz will help him realize he can’t trust every person he meets along the way. There are going to be people who will take advantage of his inexperience and inherent good nature. And sometimes, those lessons need to be learned the hard way.

One lingering question we still have, though, is why does the First Order want the Colossus? We had a theory, but we tossed it out the window after “The High Tower” episode. Clearly, they’re still using the pirates as a method of causing terror. Is it because Castilon is a strategic location? Is there more to this planet than meets the eye? We hope to see more of those answers surface sooner rather than later.
