On The Walking Dead, Rick will have to bring peace amidst the tensions that are rising between the leaders.

The Walking Dead premiere introduced us to life without Negan, and it featured peaceful living and community building. Rick vowed that he would help the Saviors live a violent free life after Negan, but the food shortage is causing the Saviors to question whether it was better to have left things in Negan’s hands. While keeping the Saviors loyalty in check is a significant problem for Rick, he may soon find that all the communities feel like they are not being appreciated in his decisions, the same way that Maggie expressed the weight of the Saviors needs on Hilltop.

In the last episode, Maggie finds herself with two new enemies after killing off Gregory who had conspired with them. Will she allow Tammy Rose and Earl to continue to live in Hilltop without their betrayal impacting their lives or will she make them suffer for going against her?

Maggie’s obvious choice here doesn’t look like an easy one because these two just lost a son and Maggie risks damaging her reputation with Hilltop. Interesting enough, Tammy Rose’s claims of Hilltop being used recklessly by Rick and the Saviors is starting to seep in, and Maggie is not willing to continue feeding the Saviors without something to show for it.

This weeks episode titled “The Bridge” will focus on the reconstruction of the bridge that will allow all the communities to continue doing runs for supplies.

AMC’s official synopsis states:

"The communities join forces to restore a bridge that will facilitate communication and trade. Someone is gravely injured at the construction site."

Given the hostilities between the communities, someone will surely be blamed for the injured party at the bridge construction site. The preview for the episode shows that nothing but chaos develops on the bridge and surely its a result of their aggressions coming to the surface. Rick’s idea of a future where they can come together and start over without harming one another is looking bleak.
