Robert Downey Jr. reacts to Chris Evans’ farewell to the Avengers with adorable fan art
Robert Downey Jr. posted an adorable tribute to Chris Evans. It looks like we are all feeling emotion about Chris being done filming Avengers 4.
Fans of Chris Evans and the MCU have been pretty emotional this weekend after Chris posted on Twitter that he had finished filming Avengers 4.
Early this week, Chris shared a heartfelt message to Twitter talking about how much playing Steve Rogers has meant to him over the past eight years. Many fans have been crying over this, and it’s easy to see why: it’s hard to believe that Chris is very likely done playing the character, at least for now.
Robert Downey Jr. seems to be having some feelings about this, too. Or, at the very least, he has Chris Evans on his mind. Downey posted some fanart to Twitter where Iron Man is drawn as Buzz Lightyear and Chris Evans is a Captain America version of Woody. (With the art aptly titled “To Infinity War and Beyond.) Fans of the two might recognize this is a reference to the Twitter exchange they had last month where they shared Disney memes.
In RDJ’s tweet, he says, “We all know who the real sheriff in town is.”
Chris responded to RDJ’s tweet with the short but sweet, “This guy…” and a crown emoji.
Fans are of course loving the continuation of Chris and RDJ’s tweets to each other. It seems the two are having some feelings now that they have wrapped filming for Avengers 4. This makes sense as they have been filming these movies together for years and are known to be good friends outside of the films, too.
Hopefully, Steve and Tony will make up in Avengers 4 after their dramatic boy band-like breakup in Captain America: Civil War. But, we can all rest easy knowing that Chris and Robert Downey Jr. are good friends. And we’re pretty sure that Steve and Tony will end up being friends again, too.
Now, excuse us while we go sob again thinking about Chris Evans leaving the MCU.
