The Book of Revelations will be central to the season.

With storylines about the antichrist and the whole apocalypse being a part of the title, the biblical vibes are not exactly subtle. It makes sense that the Book of Revelations could play a part as this book of scripture is about the end of the world. Fans have analyzed the teaser trailer to provide support for this theory.

The teaser that was released in August shows a demon hand slicing open a fig. Two scorpion falls out of the fruit. One of them is white and the other is black, and they start attacking each other. This seems to be a pretty obvious good versus evil metaphor, but there could be even more biblical metaphors there. The fig and the scorpion are both mentioned in the bible. The scorpion is specifically talked about in the Book of Revelations. “And their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he striketh a man; and in those days shall men seek death and shall not find it: and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”

Going off of this verse and the not so subtle teasers, it’s easy to see AHS will let us all watch as the world burns. To read more evidence for this theory, check out PopSugar’s analysis.
