The 100 season 5 episode 11 live stream: Watch online
During “The Dark Year,” fans of The 100 will finally get some insight into how Octavia became the ruthless tyrant that she is.
It’s no secret that Octavia Blake has gone a little off the deep end during season five of The 100. From threatening and condemning the people she used to love to forcing her people to fight an unnecessary war, she’s barely recognizable as “the girl under the floor” from season 1.
And while “Red Queen” gave fans some insight into Octavia’s current state of mind, it didn’t explain how she became so cold and emotionless. Whenever that topic does come up, tense discussions of the “Dark Year” usually follow. But no one ever says what the “Dark Year” is.
Luckily, it looks like we’ll find out this week. Tuesday’s episode is aptly titled “The Dark Year,” and the promo suggests that there will be quite a few flashbacks scattered throughout it. It also appears that we’ll be getting commentary from Abby, potentially giving viewers some insight into how she became so addicted to her pills.
It also looks like fans will get a few present-day scenes during this week’s episode, though it’s unclear whether these scenes will be vitally important to the season finale. The opening of the episode’s preview shows Octavia marching toward Shallow Valley, and between Abby’s explanations, there are also shots of her speaking with Clarke and Madi.
Whatever happens in this episode, it’s bound to be intense. “The Dark Year” was chosen for an early screening for San Diego Comic-Con, and showrunner Jason Rothenberg has been begging attendees to keep spoilers to a minimum.
And judging by the reactions of fans who did attend the screening, “The Dark Year” will not disappoint:
We’re ready for that whirlwind of emotions (maybe). Here’s how you can tune in for this week’s episode:
