Thor’s Stormbreaker axe gets made IRL and it looks amazing

The people behind the Man at Arms YouTube series remade Thor’s Stormbreaker axe from Avengers: Infinity War. Unlike other real-life versions of the ax, this one’s not a fake prop.

Just in case Thanos cares to pay our planet Earth a visit, don’t worry, we’ve got a line of defense. As you should know from seeing Avengers: Infinity War (which we hope you have if you’re reading this), Thor knew he needed a special weapon, Stormbreaker, to help kill Thanos.

Had he gone for the head, Thor probably would have gotten rid of Thanos once and for all. Unfortunately, he didn’t. And Thanos is still out there — in the movie world, of course. But just in case we do need some kind of powerful weapon like Stormbreaker, we have one now.

The guys from the Man At Arms: Reforged YouTube series made a very close real-life replica of the actual axe. No Groots were harmed in the making of the axe, and there was no need to harness the energy from the heart of a dying star.

Regardless of what it was missing, the axe still came together. The blade part of the weapon was about 40 to 50 pounds heavy. And the handle, to make it easier to carry, was made out of carved hardwood.

The final details of the replica Stormbreaker look amazing, and it didn’t even take Eitri (Peter Dinklage’s character) to forge it. See how the axe turned out in the video below, and watch it in action as the Man At Arms guys wield it themselves.

Even though this Stormbreaker is heavy, luckily, you don’t need to be worthy of the power of Thor to wield it. Everything should be fine as long as you don’t skip arm day.

Just don’t try to lift it with one hand like Thor.
