Rumored Avengers 4 title suggests the influence of a super powerful character
By Mia Johnson
Word around the internet has it that people outside of Marvel know what the title of Avengers 4 is. And the title might mean a powerful character is on the way.
Warning: We’re talking Avengers spoilers and rumors here, so be warned if you don’t want to know more!
Our beloved Avengers 4 directors Joe and Anthony Russo might not be the only ones who know the title for the fourth film. Of course, there are probably a handful of people within Marvel entrusted with the secret as well, but now some are suggesting that title has leaked to others outside of the company.
Over the last day or two, the Marvel Studios Spoilers Reddit has been abuzz about not one, but two Marvel outsiders possibly knowing the title of the movie. Remember, these have to be taken with a grain of salt, as they are rumors. But a lot of them seem to go off of what the Russo brothers said in an interview from earlier this year, saying Avengers: Forever is the closest title suggestion they’ve heard so far.
One thread pointed out Jeremy Conrad of MCUCosmic.com knows that the title is, well, somewhere out there.
He even posted this suspicious tweet with an Avengers Forever comic, possibly hinting that the Forever subtitle is in some way related to the real title.
The thread also pointed out that @DanielRPK (who the thread poster says had an accurate scoop knowing who would direct New Gods) has come across the title. Although, their source didn’t want them to reveal it just yet — so the tweet was deleted.
Others around the Reddit thread have suggested that Avengers: Eternity will be the actual title of the film. Infinity, forever, eternity… they’re basically the same. Except, in the comics, that isn’t really the case. Keen comic fans might recognize that (along with Infinity) Eternity is actually a character, not just a concept of time.
Marvel describes the character as this:
"Eternity is the embodiment of time, and possesses within itself near-omnipotent cosmic powers, drawing upon the energy of all that exists along the temporal axis."
While the Russo brothers have loosely followed the stories of the Marvel comics, Eternity (or parts of Eternity’s character) could find its way into Avengers 4. ComicsExplained on YouTube sums up it up best in his video about the character.
He explains that “Eternity was one of the beings responsible for creating the Infinity Stones.” In the comics, when Thanos wields the Infinity Gauntlet, it upsets Eternity because he’s stepping on his turf and controlling everything that Eternity is.
While ComicsExplained suggested that Eternity would show up in Ant-Man and didn’t, it would be amazing if this character were to finally appear in the epic close to this MCU chapter. Plus, we could really use a character who knows a thing or two about controlling time so we can get our favorite superheroes back. (We already discussed one way that could happen with a device previously!)

Needless to say, the Russo brothers might not completely rip events straight from the comic book (look at how they omitted the character Death from the Infinity War). But it is clear to see that we’re in for some extreme stuff in the following movie.
