After last’s week’s stellar installment, it looks like season 2 might finally be ramping up. It only took 17 episodes to do so. With Cheryl firmly planted at the asylum, this gives her girl gang lots to do to unravel her disappearance. Thankfully, this particular mystery is led by Toni, a girl who knows her way around a little logic.

It also seems like the other big reveal in “Chapter Thirty: The Noose Tightens” is the dead guy’s car. Although there hasn’t been much mention of it, let’s not forget Alice and Chic murdered some rando a few eps back, and Betty had to help clean up the crime scene. This included disposing of his car, with FP’s help. Welp, folks, as expected, the car turns up and Alice is spooked.

The trailer reveals a peak at what might be “dark Archie,” but leave it to Riverdale to undercut it by pairing it with disapproval from his mother. That’s not very gangster, writers.

While things are blowing on both sides of the tracks in Riverdale, it does seem like they are leading us toward a face off between Jughead and Archie. Now that Archie has sworn his allegiance, in the most cartoonish way possible (a blood oath, folks, seriously), Jughead sees the lines being drawn in the sand.

There’s no doubt a showdown is a-comin’ but I can’t imagine a Riverdale in which these two are buds in the end. All I know is that we get more Toni and FP in one episode, and for now, that’s all I need. See y’all on the other side.
