Statements from a recent interview with Maisie Williams support the idea that Arya could play a major part in the fight against the White Walkers.

Warning: There are Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers discussed throughout this article.

Following an interview with Metro, and some fan analysis on Reddit, concerns have recently arisen regarding whether or not Arya Stark will make it through the entirety of Game of Thrones season 8. With the ominous footage of Winterfell up in flames, we know the Starks will be at the forefront of the action once the White Walkers arrive.

And if Winterfell falls under attack, you can bet that Arya Stark will rush to defend her home and her siblings. With her training from the many faced god, she’s the only Stark that stands a fighting chance against what’s coming.

A recent interview for People magazine supports the idea that Arya will soon cross swords with the army of the dead. During this interview, Maisie Williams admitted to recently taking stunt classes for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones. From the sound of it, she’s found herself a new dancing master:

"Yesterday I took a stunt class for the new season of GoT. It’s sword work and combat fighting. The [trainers] have all these big pads on, so you’re allowed to just go crazy."

The fact that Williams is working on her combat skills signals that she’ll have a significant role in the inevitable battle for Winterfell. After all, she’ll need to master the use of Needle to escape from the enemy beyond the wall. And she’ll really need to be on top of her fighting game to ensure Sansa and Bran make it out as well. But that brings us to the real question: Will all of the Starks live to see the end of season 8?

During her interview with Metro, Williams also claimed to be a third of the way through her nighttime filming. This timeline mirrors the shooting period for the Winterfell set, leaving fans to wonder if Arya’s scenes will end at that location.

It’s also been suggested that the Stark siblings will flee their home and travel to King’s Landing, as Isaac Hempstead Wright was spotted in Dubrovnik. We’re crossing our fingers for this possibility, as it could mean a long-awaited reunion between the Starks and Jon Snow.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until 2019 to know for certain where the Starks will end up. Until then, we’re stuck with speculations based off of photographs and interviews. And those speculations place Arya right in the line of fire.
