Last week, we saw another one of Andrew Cunanan’s victims on The Assassination of Gianni Versace. So is more in store this week?
It seems as if the show the Assassination of Gianni Versace is not really, in fact, about Versace. Mainly the show focuses on Andrew Cunanan and the murders leading up to that of the designer. Which is interesting to say the least.
The show sold itself as one of the lavish life of the designer and seeing a glimpse into him before his untimely death. But that’s not really what we’re getting. Which isn’t that surprising because it is, after all, a Ryan Murphy show. And when has a Ryan Murphy show ever been what we think it is going to be?
That being said, it isn’t bad. On the contrary, it is quite interesting. It’s just not what we were sold. So many viewers are finding themselves out on a limb trying to find something to enjoy because they have committed to watching the show.
But then again, it is Ryan Murphy so at least we know we’re going to get drama if nothing more. Every week, this show is filled with stylistic choices and crazy guest appearances that have the audience on the edge of their seats.
So yes, we love every second of it, despite the show being different than what we wanted in the first place. But really, what should have happened is that we saw the rise of Gianni Versace and his relationship with Andrew Cunanan until his death at his hand.
But instead, we have this show that is interesting and weird and everything we want to talk about.
