5. Read a New Book

Even if the rest of 2017 is rather unpleasant, it’s already been a great year for new books. Authors like Neil Gaiman have already released new titles. Maybe your pile of books to read, whether physical or metaphorical, is growing so large that it’s threatening to split into two piles like a cell undergoing mitosis, although presumably these book piles wouldn’t be identical.

Anyway, the point is that reading can be a very relaxing activity, even if you pick up a novel that’s all about the action. We here at Culturess have recently reviewed titles like The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi (science fiction) and Immortal Unchained by Lynsay Sands (paranormal romance), and we also have a list of 20 fantasy series that could become the next Game of Thrones in adapted form. That’s just the start of our recommendations.

Additionally, since it’s the start of a new month, members of Amazon Prime can now select one of six titles free as part of the Kindle First program. Even if you still prefer having a physical copy of a book, ebooks are delivered immediately, meaning you can start reading within minutes instead of having to wait a couple days and basically defeating the purpose.

Furthermore, you could pay a visit to your local library, which has the benefit of being free, so long as you turn your books in on time.
