Star Wars Rebels is finally back from that weird mid-season hiatus with “Legacy of Mandalore” and we’re finally getting down to the Mandalorian nitty gritty. Sabine Wren’s long-awaited family confrontation holds the key to a major rebel alliance (pun intended).
Legendary Darksaber in hand, Sabine is about to introduce us to the rest of the Wrens, for the good of the cause. In a matriarchal showdown, this episode will prove to be a veritable character piece (and will also pass the Bechdel test in Star Wars!)

Is anyone else already really proud of Sabine for this major character development?
She’s usually just the sassy side commentary, munitions expert and artistic flair. But with Jedi training and her found family on the Ghost’s support, she’s growing into a female Star Wars role model I wish I’d had as a kid. A boss Star Wars girl who loves purple and carries a sword? Who also overcomes her personal demons amidst a galactic civil war? I’m so glad little nerdy Star Wars girls have her.
Also, I’m glad Dave Filoni and the Rebels gang aren’t doing the Mandalore arc as a side story. Sabine deserves to be a protagonist, not a filler episode character. Not only does this flesh out the Ghost crew’s dynamic, but it also gives us a wealth of information about Mandalorian culture. Filoni really knows how to show and not tell when it comes to worldbuilding in a galaxy far, far away.
