Sherlock Season 4 concludes this week with “The Final Problem”, an episode that promises answers to many mysteries. Or, at least, we think it does. The official synopsis and episode trailer are both kind of vague on this point. Fine, it’s entirely possible this episode won’t tell us anything. This is a Steven Moffat story, after all. You should probably just accept going in that there are questions we may never get any answers to.

But there are a lot of things this episode could get into, at some point or other. Sherlock and Mycroft have a secret sister, for starters. We have no idea who she is or what she wants. And she seems kind of crazy, since last week’s episode ended with what looked like her shooting John. Is Euros trying to execute some kind of revenge plot on her brother? Is she connected to Moriarty in some way? (Last week’s episode certainly implied she could be.)

We’re also still wondering about our season-long refrain – what of Rosie? Who, exactly is watching the littlest Watson while John’s off at therapy and having visions of her dead mother and fighting with Sherlock in morgues? Does she think Lestrade is her actual father yet? Will we ever even see the Watson baby again?

All of that pales of course beside the real question of the moment – does “The Final Problem” mark the end of Sherlock? Probably not, but there’s a sense from both the show’s narrative and its creative talent that the show is about to undergo some kind of change. Perhaps we have reached a natural end-point in the story, and the inevitable multi-year break between Season 4 and any potential Season 5 won’t feel so interminable. Maybe it will make more sense to shift to individual one-off specials after this.

Anything could happen, most likely. But we’ll have to wait and see. Below, you can find what you need to know about catching the Sherlock Season 4 finale online.
