Halloween Horror Nights Orlando versus HHN Hollywood: It’s all about the soundtrack
As the fog begins to form and people assemble their scream squad, one big decision is on the table. Which Halloween event is the optimum choice to get the fright on? When it comes between Halloween Horror Nights Orlando versus HHN Hollywood, the tune is clear. It is all about the music soundtrack.
Looking at both 2024 premiere Halloween events, there are similarities to both locations’ events. From The Quiet Place to Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, those concepts are comparable. They might not mimic every scene for scene, but the crossover is clear.
But, the other elements are different. This year, two big elements make HHN Hollywood a must for music fans. First, the Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines features a soundtrack from Slash. Over the years, the iconic guitar musician has provided specialty scores for various houses and experiences.
Even though it can be difficult to hear all the musical intricacies when scurrying through the haunted house, Slash’s music adds to the overall ambiance and atmosphere. With a special album available for purchase, it gives guests the opportunity to relive those moments at home.
In addition, HHN Hollywood is bringing The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy to this year’s event. While the first The Weeknd Halloween Horror Nights collaboration might have been a little divisive, this new experience continues the story.
According to Universal Studios Hollywood, the new experience features “music by The Weeknd scored by seminal producer, artist, and seven-time Grammy award winner Mike Dean.” Again, similar to the Slash soundtrack, many people will want to listen and relisten to the music hear over the screams.
In turn, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando focuses more on immersive storytelling and visuals. While there is the Nightmare Fuel performance, scarezones, and music interspersed into the houses, it is a supporting factor, not a leading role. For the Orlando location, it is a formula that works with the large space, bigger experience.
While some people would love to do that cross-country scare trip, it might not be budget friendly. If the choice is one or the other, think about the type of Halloween scares that leave you waking up in a cold sweat. With that image in mind, purchase the ticket with the images and the sounds that make you gasp yet leave you wanting more.
Halloween Horror Nights Orlando opens on August 30, 2024 and runs select nights through November 3.
Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood runs September 6, 2024 through November 3, 2024. Tickets for both events can be purchased online.
