Are you an American Girl doll collector? Do you have a child who loves American Girl dolls? Or, do you want to be ahead of the game in case a Barbie-like film premieres for American Girl?

No matter which of the options it is, American Girl has exciting news about the future of their dolls, even if it means going back to the past. American Girl is bringing back three of the brand's classic characters, Kirsten Larson, Addy Walker, and Josefina Montoya, complete with their Pleasant Company packaging and paperback book.

The three characters originally came out in 1986, 1993, and 1997, and each special edition of the character comes with The American Girl's Collection label, which the line was known to be called from 1986 until 2014.

To make it more attuned as a present, the dolls also come with the original birthday party dresses, so they are ready to join the festivities whenever the cake comes out.

According to the press release, the General Manager of American Girl stated,

""As we look back on American Girl's rich legacy, it's our beloved historical characters and their powerful stories that have transcended the test of time--instilling in generations of girls and women an understanding of their own important place in the world. Through the return of such classics as Kirsten, Addy, and Josefina, along with new product and story offerings for our other timeless characters, like 1970s Julie Albright, we're excited to continue engaging and inspiring American Girl fans of all ages for years to come.""

Don't worry, if you are a fan of American Girl's Julie Albright, there is something fun for you too. The doll will gain their own new clothes and accessories, so they can join the fun in the best styles of the 1970s.

So, embrace the joy of toys and pick up one of your own.
