Mars reveals the results of the Global Pet Parent Study

Mars does not just want to understand your candy preferences; they also want to better comprehend how they can help you and your pets. So, they created the Global Pet Parent Study to have a better grasp of the types of pets people have, with over half of the people taking the survey referencing that they have a dog or a cat. 47% of the people are first-time owners.

The survey took on twenty countries and revealed data from over 200,000 pet owners. This information is tied to Mars' desire to help end pet homelessness and give every pet a safe and loving home.

As for the United States specifically, data included that the top five dog breeds were Pitbull, Labrador Retriever, Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, and Bulldog. It also states that most people tend to welcome puppies or kittens three months or younger into their home in comparison to older pets, with the percentages revealing that this is the case with 66% of dogs and 70% of cats.

While it is fantastic to adopt younger kittens and puppies, older pets could also use a home too, and they can be lovely additions to your family as well.

Cats and dogs can be some of the most integral parts of human lives and are absolutely a member of the family. They can be the person's best friend, the one they look at as their child, or a close companion that lightens their life in some way. For children, a pet can almost be like having a sibling.

The company's determination to continue the safety of pets and encourage them to be welcomed happily into homes also has encouraged the U.S. Mars Pet Adoption weekend to go global for the first time with twelve countries, including the United States, Japan, Mexico, The UK, India, Thailand, Malaysia, France, Canada, China, The Philippines, and Brazil.

The Mars Pet Adoption Weekend will even participate in offering financial contributions to adoption events, shelters, and more in regard to helping animals be adopted from shelters and welcomed into loving homes with people and families who can not wait to play with their loving cat or dog for the first time.
