Lizzie and Hope had a big job during “I Wouldn’t Be Standing Here If It Weren’t For You.” Hope regained her humanity, which was in possession of her body. However, her No-Humanity self was still very much alive and in control of Hope’s mind. Refusing to leave her cell, Hope will not put others at risk, uncertain of what she may do. That is where Lizzie comes in.

Although Hope initially sends Lizzie away, calling out how Lizzie has fewer excuses for her recent actions than Hope, Lizzie returns anyway. Bringing back a box and spell meant to help Hope’s situation, Lizzie has an answer to Hope’s problem. With Lizzie’s help, Hope successfully vanquished her darker persona from her mind, then set its remains on fire to ensure they stay gone.

However, Hope’s inner darkness is not the only enemy that the duo has. The God Ken has arrived, and “I Wouldn’t Be Standing Here If It Weren’t For You” gives a small taste of the struggle that may come in a future war. For as powerful as a Tribrid is, a God is stronger. Hope’s magic is practically useless against Ken as he effortlessly fights her off. Although Hope can not be killed, her immortality is easily her greatest weapon. However, the power of not quickly dying may not be that helpful when it comes to offensive maneuvers.

Lizzie’s siphoning is sadly not much help either, as she is immediately removed from the fight. Ken is clearly more potent than any villain that the Super Squad has ever faced. Although nature does not allow anyone the ability to be immortal without a loophole to kill them, it has yet to be seen what the rules for Gods are.

Although Ken leaves unharmed and with Jen, his daughter he arrived for, Hope is left in an interesting predicament. When Hope wakes up, it is not beside Cleo and Kaleb, who sits next to her waiting. Instead, Hope wakes up in Limbo, reuniting with Landon. Does this mean Landon may finally be leaving Limbo?

Landon has spent his time in Limbo discovering a new purpose, and his time with Sela only highlights that. On Earth, Landon’s most excellent skill was helping to plan attacks or utilizing his Phoenix powers to avoid permanent death. But, in Limbo, Landon has found he has a unique gift of helping others find a way to peace.

Although Landon has not found his peace or a way back home, he has seemed content to remain in Limbo, helping others move on. It is a storyline that gives Landon agency, which he lacked while alive. In life, Landon was often the person in distress who needed saving. In Limbo, Landon has influence and can actively help people.

While that does not mean he may choose to stay in Limbo, it does show there is more to him than someone in constant need of saving. It could also suggest another calling in life if he returned home with Hope. Could Landon’s ability to help people move on be a potential calling to a future career?

Still, Hope has gone above and beyond to reunite with Landon before. Now that they are, will Hope bring Landon back to life with her? Does she have the power to do that? What does everything they have been through separately mean for their relationship?

Hope has been relatively busy between fake Landons, activating her vampire side, having her humanity turned off, and preparing for a fight against the Gods. She also has to deal with her actions since her humanity has returned. Meanwhile, for the most part, Landon has remained in Malivore and later in Limbo, having experienced a far less action-packed existence than Hope since he initially disappeared into Malivore.

Hope and Landon have never had the opportunity to deal with what it means for Hope’s blood to be toxic to Landon and how that could affect their relationship. Landon even seems to be at peace with the idea that perhaps he and Hope may not have been meant to last forever. So, is there a romantic relationship to go back to if they have been through so much separately for so long?

With war coming, stakes are bound to be raised, and with the suggestion that someone may die, things may change forever in upcoming episodes.
