Let’s explore some potential theories about The Matrix Resurrections

The Matrix Resurrections: The Machines plan
I’ve touched upon some theories that involved this in the previous slides but I wanted to really explore this place a bit more. Obviously, the machines are involved once again in this film. What is it they’re trying to do?
Could they be acquiring Neo to help with a rogue program? While it wasn’t their intention in the first movie, it was definitely what ended up happening by the time the trilogy ended. They needed his help in order to take Agent Smith out. However, they did want to wipe out the last of humanity. So what could this mean for the new film?
Well, the machines could have found out that the Zions were planning on destroying all of them and decided to keep Neo sedated with the blue pill so he would never find out. That’s what Neil Patrick Harris’s character is giving Neo to keep him “sane”. If he’s weighed down by sedation, he couldn’t help the humans from freeing everyone out of the Matrix.
On the flip side, they could be reacting to the surprise brought on by the Zions waking Neo up. Maybe they have no idea what’s going on and they’re trying to hold the Matrix together; as those pesky Zions are up to it again, also somewhat echoing the original films. They also seemingly want Neo back (or dead).
However, don’t ask me what the Merovingian is doing back, I have no idea what that silly program could be up to.
Personally, I think I’m really just excited at the possibilities we could see from this new film. While we didn’t go into all of the theories that can branch from this trailer, I think it’s a fun start to a big theory debate on what it’s about and what the deeper meaning is this time around.
