Suicide Squad member: Col. Rick Flag

Joel Kinnaman reprises his role as the field leader of the Squad, Rick Flag. Given his outfit change and haircut, we’re thinking this is a less serious version of the character than we saw in the original film. Maybe he broke up with June Moon/Enchantress and this is just who he is now.

Rick Flag made his comics debut in The Brave and the Bold #25 in 1959. The name is actually attached to a family of soldiers – a father, son and grandson. It’s also the third live-action appearance for the character, what with these two Suicide Squad movies and a role on Smallville.

Flag will likely be trying to hold the team together but that’s like wrangling cats – a futile effort. Could that cost him his life though? Maybe. If Gunn’s words are to be believed, this may be the Colonel’s last mission.

Prediction: Dead
