Suicide Squad member: Brian Durlin / Savant

Michael Rooker is a James Gunn staple. If there’s a Gunn film, there’s a Rooker somewhere. At least for the most part. This time he’s playing Savant, a computer hacker with way too much leather and hair for someone who needs to get to computers.

The world got to meet Savant in Birds of Prey #56 back in 2003. His origin was a bit like Batman’s in that he was the heir to a massive fortune who then decided to become a vigilante, using his computer skills to blackmail companies and get paid for it. That’s a no-no in Batman world though.

Since he barely has a presence in the comics, it’s unlikely that he will make it very long. The downside of being in a Gunn film is that he can easily kill off the characters and it doesn’t seem like a computer hacker could get much done in a mission like defeating Starro.

Prediction: Dead
