Summer TV: Stargirl

Platform: The CW

Release Date: August 10

Cast: Brec Bassinger, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gillman, Amy Smart, Luke Wilson

Premise: In the first season finale, Stargirl, Wildcat, and the rest of the Justice Society rallied together to thwart the evil master plan of the Injustice Society. Season 2 will see an influx of new characters, both heroes and villains alike.

Nick Tarabay has joined the cast as a series regular as the villain Eclipso. Jonathan Cake has been cast in the role of Shade, a DC Comics character that has been both a villain and a hero. The good guys will also receive backup from the likes of Thunderbolt (voiced by Jim Gaffigan), Jakeem Thunder (played by Alkoya Brunson), and Jay Garrick, which will see John Wesley Shipp reprising the role he originated in The Flash.

Season 2 moves from HBO Max to The CW, though it will be available on both streaming platforms. Stargirl is slated to be paired on Tuesdays with both Superman & Lois, as well the remaining episodes of Supergirl, which returns August 24.
