Disney After Hours BOO BASH is the new way to celebrate Halloween at Magic Kingdom
While magical moments always await at Magic Kingdom, the new Disney After Hours BOO BASH will make the spooky season even more exciting at Disney Parks. Instead of the previously held Mickey’s Not So Scary Party, this new event is a Disney After Hours specially ticketed offering. With many people excited to have a taste of the spooky season back at the happiest place on Earth, it might be time to book that fall trip.
According to Disney Parks, the Disney After Hours BOO BASH will be held on select nights starting on August 10 through October 31. Each specially ticketed event begins at 9 p.m. and ends at midnight. In addition to Disney attractions being open, there will be a variety of Halloween-themed activities including, special performances, decorations, character sightings, Halloween-themed cavalcade, and, of course, candy.
Similar to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party from previous years, guests of all ages are invited to wear costumes during the event. While guests over 14 cannot wear full Halloween masks/face coverings, costume creativity is always encouraged at Disney Parks.
As seen in previous years, many guests coordinate costumes within their group. From being inspired by favorite Disney characters to even recreating scenes from favorite movies, seeing all the guests’ costume creativity is another fun element to this specially ticketed event.

While Goofy, Daisy, and Donald have their costumes ready, guests might want to start planning for the big event. Given that this fall marks Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, the Disney Parks will be brimming with additional excitement.
Although this special Halloween event draws many guests for its theme, other people prefer these special after-hours events because of the limited crowds and lower wait times. Occasionally, these special events are an opportunity to have a lesser wait on favorite rides like Space Mountain, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Haunted Mansion.
Lastly, for guests who have never had the pleasure to stroll through Magic Kingdom at night, it is a delightful experience. Seeing all the attractions illuminated in the dark sky is a little extra sprinkling of pixie dust. And, since it is a late evening event, make sure to rest early in the day. Being tired and cranky at Magic Kingdom is never a good thing.
The Disney After Hours BOO BASH event tickets will go on sale soon. For more information on pricing, availability, and safety protocols, please visit the Disney Parks website.
