As excitement builds for Walt Disney World 50th anniversary, there are many reasons to visit.

It is hard to believe that Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary is in 2021. While Disneyland has long past that momentous milestone, the Orlando theme park is embarking on its golden year. Although the celebration might be modified due to the current climate, there are many reasons to anticipate, prepare, and look forward to the big milestone in October 2021.

Over the past year, Walk Disney World has found a way to keep the magic while incorporating health and safety parameters. Most guests can easily adapt to the changes. From mask-wearing to social distancing, everyone has adhered to the rules so that they can step back into that Disney magic.

The official 50th anniversary date is October 1, 2021. While it seems likely that the Magic Kingdom will be packed on that particular day, the celebration will be more than just a single day event.

Although all the exact plans have yet to be announced, there are several reasons to book a trip this year. Here are a few that could have you wishing for a little sprinkle of Pixie Dust.

Reimagined Cinderella Castle

Who hasn’t taken a photo in front of Cinderella’s Castle? The recent castle color scheme makeover means that new photos are a must.

The pink and gold color scheme seems to sparkle and shine in the Florida sun. Given that gold is the 50th anniversary gift, the golden spires seem ready to celebrate.

Rediscover favorite rides

Although some people might think that It’s a Small World is an earworm that lingers throughout your visit, those classic rides are the nostalgia that many people crave.

Whether it is a parent passing a memory to a child or families creating memories together, those classic Disney rides are cherished magical moments.

New character experiences

While you might not be hugging Mickey right now, the Disney characters have new experiences all around the theme parks. Now, character cavalcades traverse the park. These experiences offer more opportunities to see your favorite characters.

Also, many characters are out and about. From socially distant photo ops to even some entertaining drive-bys, it seems that the Disney characters are popping up around every corner.

Special Disney food

A visit to Disney Park requires at least one special treat. Although Mickey-shaped food is a favorite, it seems likely that the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration will have special treats to enjoy.

Given that every holiday and special event comes with a cupcake, candy, or even a drink, the smorgasbord of deliciousness will be overflowing.

Park Hopper is back

As of the beginning of the year, the Park Hopper option has returned. While Park Hopper is dependent on theme park capacity and theme park reservations, it is one of the benefits that people love about Walt Disney World.

Now, people can spend the morning at the rope drop at Magic Kingdom and see the sunset at Epcot. Or, battle the Rise of the Resistance at Galaxy’s Edge then take on Space Mountain after dark. From park to park, there is always a new adventure ahead.

As you drive under the re-imagined Walt Disney World gates, the phrase, the most magical place on Earth, seems to hold even more sentiment during the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration. When the world needs some sparkle and shine, those magical memories are a gift to be cherished.
