Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of Walt Disney World’s signature Halloween events, but you don’t have to have kids to attend.

Have you been to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party? The annual event, held at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, is always a popular choice. And while many families add this special event to their vacation itineraries, the party isn’t just for kids. Actually, the event is incredibly fun even without kids.

The specialty ticket Magic Kingdom event showcases Disney magic with a slightly spooky twist. While there are no scare actors ready to make you scream, there are a few villains around the theme park. If you are drawn to the slightly darker side of Disney, there are plenty of photo opportunities throughout the park.

Even a few of the rides have a Halloween twist. From Pirates of the Caribbean to Space Mountain, the Halloween spirit has wiggled its way into some classic attractions. Additionally, various parts of Magic Kingdom have the Halloween spirit.

Still, why would adults want to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party without kids? Here are my top five reasons that you should get your tickets now.

You get to act like a kid

When do adults ever get to trick or treat? Sure, you might “borrow” some of that Halloween candy, but how much fun is it to get your own bag of sweet treats? Throughout the evening, there are several “treats” locations throughout the theme park.

Personally, by the end of the evening, my little treat bag was overflowing with candy. Even without a costume, there was a little giddiness in collecting my bounty.

Food, food, and more food

One of the best parts of these Disney special events are the treats created specifically for the party. At this Halloween-themed event, the treats are a perfect blend of Disney magic and a little spookiness.

While there are many sweet treats, the Lots-O-Burger is a definitely must-try savory item. And the strawberry bacon jam is a flavor experience that everyone needs to have.

Don’t be left out of the Halloween treat fun. Many of the special treats are limited. If you have your heart set on a special treat, make sure you indulge early before they are all gone.

Short wait times

One of the best parts of these special Disney events is that the rides’ wait times are shorter than usual. With smaller crowds, lines for even the most popular rides are quick. For example, when I attended, the wait for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was under 40 minutes, and the one for Peter Pan was under 30. It was a rider’s dream.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular

For many people, Hocus Pocus holds a special place in their annual Halloween celebration. That classic movie featuring the Sanderson sisters is and will always be a classic. This show is definitely funny and worth standing in front of the castle to watch.

Fireworks and parade

This year’s all-new Halloween Spectacular is definitely a must-watch. As all your favorite Disney characters fly across the castle with vibrant colors and lights, it is totally engaging. It seemed that almost every moment was filled with movement, excitement and fireworks. Definitely take the time to watch the show.

Also, the Boo to You Parade is equally entertaining. Whether you watch from the parade’s starting point or the end of the line, the experience is fun. Just don’t miss the parade’s entrance. It is the highlight of the event.

Make it a group event

Bringing a group of friends to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party can be the perfect night out. Whether the group decides to dress up or just wear their favorite Disney shirts, it’s about having fun with your friends. Laugh, enjoy, and feel the Disney magic all night long.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party runs on select nights now through November 1. It is a specially ticketed event.
