New The Walking Dead trailer shows a dark season 10C
By Sonya Iryna
The Walking Dead 10C is getting closer, and the trailers that have been released show that the survivors’ problems aren’t over even though the Whisperers are gone. Eugene, Yumiko, King Ezekiel, and Princess are captives of the armored group that found them in the train yard.
Maggie’s back, but she’s going to have to face Negan and some ghosts from the past she’s been avoiding. Carol and Daryl are going to need to clear the air after Carol’s rogue actions fighting Alpha, and the entire group of survivors is dejected, worn out, and feeling hopeless after the loss of Hilltop and the near loss of Alexandria.
The latest teaser hints at some of the conflicts ahead in the bonus six episodes that make up season 10C:
What to expect from The Waking Dead 10C
The six episodes of season 10C will each focus on a particular character-driven story, similar to the anthology format that Fear the Walking Dead has used in the current season. These six episodes were shot during the pandemic, so there are some changes that had to be made to keep everyone safe, like shooting with limited people and switching to digital instead of shooting on film.
The expanded season is set directly after the final defeat of the Whisperers, but some episodes will utilize flashbacks to reveal the characters’ stories in depth, like “Find Me,” which goes back in time to show Daryl’s search for Rick after Rick’s disappearance and the season finale, and “Here’s Negan,” which will tell Negan’s backstory.
One of the episodes that will set the stage for The Walking Dead season 11 is episode 1020, “Splinter,” which is set in the show’s current timeline and shows what happens to Eugene, Yumiko, Ezekiel, and Princess as they try to figure out who this armored group is and what they want. They’re definitely not friendly, and it looks like they are all in danger as the soldiers rough them up.
Learning about this mysterious group and what their community is like is the set up for the next evolution of the show. Season 11, which will be the final outing for The Walking Dead, will propel the group to a new type of community bigger than they have ever seen before and show the early stages of a burgeoning new society. How will this society fit into the CRM and their plans to restore the old world? There may be some clues to that coming up in The Walking Dead 10C.
