The second WandaVision trailer was released during Disney Investor Day, and it teases something amiss in the paradise Wanda and Vision are living in.

Disney Investor Day had so many surprises in store for Marvel fans, it’s difficult to keep up with it all. But while most of the franchise’s announcements had to do with projects that are far off, its brand-new WandaVision trailer allowed us to look forward to something arriving much sooner — in January, as a matter of fact.

This isn’t the first footage fans have seen of the new Disney+ series, but it does expand upon the series’ plot a bit — especially when it comes to something being very wrong beneath the surface of this sitcom-inspired world Wanda and Vision are apparently living in.

Given that Vision is supposed to be dead — and that we know Wanda doesn’t live in the fairytale world we’re being shown — it’s always been obvious that something’s out of place. But the moments in the new trailer that highlight Wanda’s inability to remember people she knows or how she got there underscore that aspect of the series.

The second half of the trailer also shows someone breaking through to Wanda, or at least trying to — and there are quite a few hints that the people in Wanda’s life may be the creation of her own mind. In this way, the series is setting fans up for an emotional ending. And with Wanda and Vision deciding to fight for “their home,” one has to question what the outcome might be.

Thankfully, we won’t need to wait much longer to see the story unfold. WandaVision hits Disney+ on January 20, 2021. Finally, some Marvel Cinematic Universe content to look forward to!
