Disney announced over 10 plans for movies and TV shows to expand the vast Star Wars universe, leaving fans absolutely quaking in excitement!

Fans of the vast Star Wars universe will be buzzing for days over the amazing news given at Disney’s Investor Presentation. Content is in the pipeline for years to come, greatly expanding the universe. Star Wars is showing no signs of stopping in the near or even distant future. What a huge win for viewers!

Within all the exciting news given today fans rejoiced a little extra learning that two fan favorites from the universe will be given their very own show: Ahsoka Tano and Lando Calrissian. These are two characters that have been given time to shine, but not the spotlight they truly deserve.

These characters are captivating and strong and will bring in many viewers to follow whatever journey is being set up for them. These two shows are presented to fans with small teases and no massive info, which in this climate is a bright move. This year has proven that everyone needs to expect the unexpected. Even though viewers weren’t given trailers, they were given very beautifully made logos to add to the excitement.

The news of Lando being given a special event show comes to the public with very little detail. The timeline and casting are still up for discussion. Earlier in the year, there were rumors that Donald Glover would return to reprise the role of Lando, but no confirmation has been given so far. The only hard news given on this front is that Disney is working with Justin Simien, creator of Dear White People, and they are in the very early stages of this project.

Ahsoka Tano getting her own show is likely the most exciting news of the night. When fans think of Star Wars and classic characters, she is on everyone’s favorite list. When Ahsoka made her debut in The Mandalorian, everyone lost it at her epic live-action appearance. When she left as quickly as she was introduced, fans could see a bigger plan on the horizon. She would either come back to The Mandalorian or finally get her moment as the main character in her own show.

Disney graced fans with more information about Ahsoka’s show. Fans now know that it will be live-action with Rosario Dawson playing her, and it will be set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. On the same note as Ahsoka getting her own show, another show will also be debuting at the same time, Christmas of 2021, and it is called Rangers of the New Republic.

Rangers of the New Republic will be live-action as well and no casting details were given. However, it was stated it is also in the same timeline as The Mandalorian. It will come together with the series about Ahsoka Tano as a “climactic story event,” so possibly fans could see the cast of all three shows working together at some point.

No matter how everything comes together, this is without a doubt the best time to be a Star Wars fan. It seems the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian has caused a new wave of fans and passion within old fans that this fandom hasn’t seen in a long while. Thank you Disney for listening to the millions of Star Wars fans and giving two long-time favorites their moment in the spotlight!
