Rosario Dawson has reportedly been cast for The Mandalorian’s second season — and she’s playing a character the Star Wars community already knows and loves.

The Mandalorian‘s second season is currently slated to come out this October, and it looks like the series has added a new face to its cast. According to Slash Film, Rosario Dawson of Rent and Daredevil fame has been chosen to play Ahsoka Tano in the new episodes — and honestly, we couldn’t be more excited about the news.

It’s likely Dawson herself is pretty thrilled to be taking on the role as well, since she’s repeatedly expressed excitement about fan campaigns to cast her as Ahsoka. Not only did she respond to Twitter pleas to be in a Star Wars film with “Ummmm… yes, please?!,” but she also announced how “amazing” it would be on Good Morning America. Given her passion for the character and the content, she seems a promising addition to the series.

Ahsoka is a Star Wars character beloved by many, but she’s only ever appeared in the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Dawson’s portrayal will be the first live-action appearance for the character, who served as Anakin’s apprentice in those stories. Assuming The Mandalorian leaves her backstory intact — which is likely, given that Clone Wars creator Dave Filoni is also working on Disney+ series — Ahsoka’s inclusion could connect the series to the Star Wars movies that came before.

Ahsoka’s knowledge of the Jedi and the Force will also come in handy when it comes to Baby Yoda. The first season of The Mandalorian leaves off with Mando accepting responsibility for the kid — at least, until he can find the child’s ancestors. The mission to learn more about Baby Yoda’s species — and the Jedi in general — will likely lead our main characters to Ahsoka’s doorstep. And given that she knew Yoda and can wield the Force, she’ll actually have answers for them.
