Travel Tuesday: Does the most haunted state top your Halloween destination list?
If you are looking for a last-minute Halloween destination, would you consider the most haunted state?
Can you guess the most haunted state? While many cities across the U.S have long been linked to spooky history, sordid tales, and creepy characters, one state tops the list as most haunted. Any guesses?
At first blush, many people would think that places like Savannah or New Orleans would be number one. While these two locations do have many ghost experiences, creepy historic tales, and other spooky stories, it is not necessarily the same as seeing a ghost.
For some people, the top Halloween destination has to do with real ghost experiences. Some areas might be more prone to having ghost sighting over others. Although you might think that someone followed you back to the hotel, he might stay outside the door or it might be an illusion.
According to a recent study, based on the number is reported ghost sightings, Texas is the most haunted state. While everything is bigger and better in Texas, it seems that they might like this haunted honor. Maybe there is more hiding at the Alamo than people realize.
Coming in second is California, followed by Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois. It seems that these states have many people feeling that they have encountered a ghost. But what does that mean?
Granted some people believe in ghosts and others do not. For those people who do believe there could be ghosts walking around, there are a few thoughts about one might be near.
According to Psychic Vincent Sisters: “You’ll see unexplained shadows or movements in the side-vision of your eyes, or soft whispers of a conversation near you and no one is there.” Other ideas include the feeling of being watched or touched.
Granted there could be some exaggeration or wishing. Who didn’t play with an Ouija board growing up? Although a real ghost experience doesn’t come with movie effects, it could happen. Maybe there was a reason why you didn’t go down that hallway.
For some people, they have crowned Texas the most haunted state based on the most ghost sightings. But, just because you go to Texas doesn’t mean that you will see a ghost. You might just see cowboy boots, eat some great brisket, and enjoy some fun sights.
Since Halloween 2020 is completely different this year, it could be time to try something new. While Halloween Horror Nights is smaller and Disney has canceled its Mickey Not So Scary Party, it doesn’t necessarily mean that Halloween is completely canceled. Maybe this year is the time to focus on the real paranormal, not the created version.
Do you agree with this idea of the most haunted state? Do you believe in ghosts?
