First New York Comic Con panels include Stargirl, Walking Dead franchise

New York Comic Con has released the initial lineup for their virtual event scheduled for early next month, including panels for Stargirl, Helstrom, and The Walking Dead franchise.
Producers of this year’s New York Comic Con have announced the initial lineup for their virtual fandom event, which is scheduled for October 8-11 and will be streamed exclusively on the New York Comic Con YouTube channel.
In addition to the type of virtual panels we’ve seen heavily used this year by other fandom events, viewers will also be able to participate in guest Q&As during panels and utilize multiple YouTube features like the Comments section and Community Tab to create watch parties with other fans.
The announcement includes a healthy mix of established shows, as well as sneak peeks of shows scheduled to premiere later this year. Here is a rundown of the NYCC panels that have been announced so far:
Hulu’s Helstrom
Marvel’s latest television series was well-received at San Diego Comic Con@ Home earlier this year where the cast and crew debuted the first official trailer for the new supernatural horror show.
The cast, including leads Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon, as well as creator Paul Zbyszewski are scheduled to appear. The entire 10-episode run of Helstrom premieres Friday, October 16th on Hulu.
Hulu’s Monsterland
Based on the collection of short stories from Nathan Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters,” Monsterland is a new anthology series from Hulu that premieres Friday, October 2nd.
Cast members scheduled to appear include Kaitlyn Dever, Taylor Schilling, and Kelly Marie Tran as well as creator/showrunner Mary Laws.
Hulu’s Books of Blood
Join the cast and creator of Hulu’s upcoming horror anthology Books of Blood, which is based on Clive Barker’s novels of the same name, to discuss the upcoming Hulu series.
Cast members slated to attend include Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, and Seth McFarlane, as well as showrunner Brannon Braga.
Animaniacs
Join executive producer Wellesley Wild, co-executive producer Gabe Swarr, and voice cast members Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille, and Jess Harnell as they offer a first look at the brand-new Animaniacs series premiering Friday, November 20 on Hulu.
Lost Anniversary
Original Lost showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will host a virtual Q&A to answer some of the fans’ longest-running burning questions about the hit series.
The panel will be moderated by Josh Horowitz and attendees are asked to submit their question using the #lostinthemetaverse hashtag.
Archer Cast Trivia
Join the cast of the FX awarding-winning animated comedy series Archer, including H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, and Amber Nash as they face the ultimate test of knowledge in celebration of the show’s 11th season, which premieres Wednesday, September 16.
What We Do in the Shadows
The cast and producers of FX’s campy, documentary-style comedy that takes a look at the everyday lives of four vampires, will take part in a live Q&A discussion.
Stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, and Natasia Demetriou are slated to appear.
Spotlight on Doctor Who
Join current doctor Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill for a discussion on the past two seasons of Doctor Who.
They will also preview the upcoming holiday special, “Revolution of the Daleks.” Melanie McFarland will moderate the panel.
The Watch
Join the cast and crew of BBC America’s upcoming supernatural series, The Watch for a first look at the new series.
Cast members include Richard Dormer, Lara Rossi, Jo Eaton-Kent, and Adam Hugill. The panel will be moderated by actress Yvette Nicole Brown.
The Walking Dead
All three of AMC’s The Walking Dead franchise series have panels scheduled. Cast and crew from all three of The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond are scheduled to appear.
American Gods
Cast and crew of the Starz Original Series American Gods are slated to appear and will preview the show’s upcoming third season. Exact roster has not been made official as of yet.
The Sound of The Sandman
To celebrate the debut of his first-ever audio adaptation of The Sandman, storyteller Neil Gaiman will be joined by auteur Dirk Maggs, as well as additional voice cast members of the upcoming audiobook.
Stargirl
One of the surprise hits of 2020, DC’s Stargirl will be hosting their own panel at this year’s NYCC. Creator Geoff Johns will be joined by series stars Brec Bassinger, Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, Meg DeLacy, and Cameron Gellman.
Nancy Drew
Another surprise hit from The CW, the cast and crew of Nancy Drew will host a panel to discuss the series’ first season, as well as what we can expect from season 2.
Cast members scheduled to appear are Kennedy McMann, Scott Wolf, Leah Lewis, Riley Smith, and Alex Saxon. Creator Noga Landau and showrunner Melinda Hsu Taylor are also slated to be in attendance.
Steven Universe
Voice cast and crew of the animated series Steven Universe will come together to discuss the upcoming art book which features loads of behind-the-scenes action.
Creator Rebecca Sugar, author Chris McDonnell, Kat Morris, and Alonso Ramirez Ramos are scheduled to attend.
Lucasfilm Publishing
Star Wars authors including Daniel Jose Older, Preeti Chhibber, Katie Cook, and Amy Ratcliffe are scheduled to be in attendance to discuss their exciting new projects set in a galaxy far, far away.
Valiant in Hollywood
Ahead of the release of Paramount’s Harbinger in 2021, Valiant comic book writers Jeff Parker and Dennis Hallum are joined by Senior Editors Heather Antos and Lysa Hawkins for an exclusive look at the future of the Valiant Universe.
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Live Auction
Over 500 items of original props, costumes, and other collectibles from all seven seasons of ABC’s Agents of SHIELD will be auctioned off for charity. Series Prop Master, Scott Bauer, will be moderating the discussion.
