The Comic-Con at Home panels, including a LGBTQ+ panel on representation and a Charlize Theron retrospective, are scheduled from July 22 to July 26.

San Diego Comic-Con has released the official schedule of virtual panels planned for Comic-Con at Home later this month, and we are super excited for the lineup! The year 2020 hasn’t been kind to the pop-culture convention circuit. A majority of them, including Las Vegas’s ClexaCon and Atlanta’s DragonCon, have canceled in-person events and opted to go the virtual route, following in the footsteps of HomeCon. SDCC, one of the largest pop-culture conventions in the world, quickly followed suit, announcing that there would be a San Diego Comic-Con at Home online experience this year.

Looking over the lineup, there are some usual suspects, such as Marvel (though not the MCU) and Amazon, but there are also timely panels focusing on current events. There’s a panel on LGBTQ+ representation in Hollywood, similar to the recent Netflix documentary, Disclosure, which focused on the trans community’s role (or lack thereof) in Hollywood throughout the years. There’s also a noticeable shift towards more family-friendly fare, such as discussions on graphic novels for kids and various animated series like Phineas and Ferb, Bugs Bunny, and Looney Tunes.
