Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Where in the world is Fitz?
We’re four episodes into Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’s final season and we have yet to see Fitz. Where is he? And when should we expect him to show up?
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD still hasn’t answered a lot of our burning questions. We still don’t quite know what’s going on with Simmons (though we can confirm she’s not an LMD thanks to the EMP not knocking her out like Coulson and the Chronicoms). We have an idea of what’s going on with May, but not so much Elena.
And we have yet to see Simmons’ husband/Deke’s grandfather/Enoch’s best friend Leopold Fitz.
That seems strange, for one of our main players to not be shown at all four episodes in with literally no explanation. Seriously. The last thing Simmons said was in the season six finale about how she and Fitz can’t know where the other is or it could lead to the world’s destruction.
But zero mention of him in multiple episodes feels weird.
So … where in the world is Fitz? Or when in the world is Fitz?
It’s obvious that, once again, he has not time-traveled with the team. And I don’t think they have the ability to communicate through time just yet (someone correct me if I’m wrong!).
The assumption is that he’s in present day, trying to keep things as calm as possible, making sure everything stays the status quo. Would he know if history had changed at all? If he has a copy of his old consciousness, perhaps he’s using that as a reference point to know when something’s been seriously altered.
When can we expect to see him? If Fitz is in present day and we time travel about two decades every two episodes, we should have him back with the team by episode eight or nine. And in looking at the episode titles, we are definitely getting a 1990s episode that may or may not be an homage to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
That is also assuming Fitz doesn’t crop up in any post-credits stingers. It would be nice to have FitzSimmons back together for the back-half of this final season, especially since their relationship this entire series has been about separating them rather than keeping them together.
One thing we do know for sure is that Agents of SHIELD is pulling out all of the stops and greatest hits for this final season. I’m excited to see where the rest of the season takes us. What are your thoughts on when we’ll see Fitz? Let us know in the comments!
