With the reveal of Dr. Manhattan and a strange court case for Ozymandias, there are some interesting things afoot on this week’s Watchmen.
There is a lot to answer for during this week’s Watchmen because the last we saw of our heroes, they left us with a lot of new information and too few answers as to how this all came to be. Within last week’s hour, we discovered that Cal (Angela’s husband) wasn’t really who we thought he was, Ozymandias answered his court sentence by farting, and Lady Trieu revealed she is on the side of Angela and those against the rise of the Seventh Kalvary.
Now that we know the Seventh Kalvary’s plans to become Dr. Manhattan, it is going to be a fight to stop the racist group from succeeding. And with the real Dr. Manhattan there and ready to fight alongside Angela and Laurie (theoretically), maybe they actually stand a chance at stopping it.
The real question is this: When will Ozymandias tie into any of this? From the beginning, he’s seemingly been separated from everyone else — and even with his court case, it doesn’t seem as if he’s going to somehow miraculously end up in Tulsa. So, is he going to come when Dr. Manhattan reveals that he’s in Oklahoma instead of on Mars, where Ozymandias has been trying to go? Or is this episode more about everyone fighting against the police and Seventh Kalvary? We’ll have to wait and see.
