It’s Back to Hogwarts season at Universal, and our bags are already packed

Summer vacation might be coming to an end, which means it is Back to Hogwarts season at Universal Orlando. What is on your to do list?

Even wizards have to go back to school, and Back to Hogwarts is in full swing at Universal Orlando Resort. This summer has been filled with Wizarding World excitement, and now is the perfect time for all the wizards — and muggles — to head back to Hogwarts. What do you need to do to get ready for the season?

Just like regular school-aged children, the students need to get ready to head back to their school. While the shopping lists might be a little different, there are few must-haves, must-dos and last-minute fun that are part of this annual tradition.

Luckily for all Harry Potter fans, everyone can take part in the Back to Hogwarts season at Universal Orlando. Plus, the theme park adventure is a nice way to end the summer on a fun note.
Wondering what you should do to get ready for Back to Hogwarts? Here are some suggestions.

Wand selection

Everyone knows that a wizard’s wand is unique and special. Finding the right wand takes care and a certain finesse. Luckily, Ollivanders can help with finding that special wand.

Whether you’re stopping by the location in Diagon Alley or the one in Hogsmeade, the specialists at the store will find the perfect wand for you. Make sure to partake in the wand choosing ceremony.

Although only one person is chosen per ceremony, the event is definitely a must-see for all Harry Potter fans. Just be careful of the wayward spells that could occur with the incorrect wand.

Get a new robe

Everyone needs new clothes to head back to school, and wizards need a new robe. Hand me downs can make people snicker (just ask Ron Weasley). Gringotts Money Exchange

Every wizard needs a few banknotes for back-to-school shopping. Make sure to take a quick trip to the bank to exchange that muggle money.

The head goblin and his helper will happily exchange your money. Plus, you can ask the goblin a question while you go through the line. Just be care what you ask. You might not like the response.

Of course, don’t forget to ride Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, too. The thrill ride is definitely an adventure that you won’t forget.

Enjoy a study break with some ice cream

When Harry needed a place to study, he headed to Florean Fortescue’s — and you should too. The Florean Fortescue’s  Ice-Cream Parlour has numerous types of ice cream. While Butterbeer ice cream is delicious, a few other flavors might push your flavor boundaries. From clotted cream to Earl Grey and Lavender, maybe this school year you’ll develop a more varied palate.

Stock up on snacks

Instead of waiting for the trolley cart, stock up on some snacks and sweet treats. Whether you want to try your luck with some Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans or prefer some Fizzing Wizzbees there is definitely a sweet treat that will make that trip tasty.

Get prepared for your first class

Classes can be educational, difficult, and fun, and your first class should definitely be Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. This story coaster will give you a glimpse into your magical creature class.

As you travel on your journey, prepare to meet a variety of Hagrid’s friends. Just remember that the Forbidden Forest might not always be as it seems.

Enjoy a final feast

While school meals can be tasty, one big final meal is always a reason to celebrate. A leisurely dinner at either Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Cauldron is a great way cap off the Back to Hogswart celebration.

All the delicious menu options are just like what Harry and his friends would eat. Whether you opt for the always-tasty fish and chips or choose to share a Ploughman’s Platter with friends, this final feast will have you prepared for the school year.
